Our Search and Rescue Dogs

Bloodhounds are the best trackers that exist, so from time to time we like to return something to our community by giving one to a nearby police department for that purpose.

DETECTIVE BEN

Ben has finished his training, is certified, and is currently a member of the Newark, NJ Police Department.

A recent donation was to the PD in Southbridge, MA, in 2007. Here is shown Sgt Dan Southal pleased with his new charge "Scout", ready and eager to be trained.

Sgt Southall wrote us:

Hello,

This is an update on Scout... she was recently certified in April 2008 when she was about 11 months old and passed without a problem.

On 4/27/08, Scout and I were called out to assist our agency with a reported armed robbery at 1 AM. With the assistance of Scout, we were able to find and identify the suspect along with two accomplices. That makes three felony arrests for her first month on the job.

Thanks for the dog.

Another "Scout", from the same 2007 litter, is now living in Rochester, NY, with her new family. She will be trained for Search and Rescue. Scout and her owner will be traveling to North Carolina on Sept 23, 2007, to attend her first official training seminar with CSAR, an International Organization www.csar.org
Here's an update on the return from the first training seminar (9/28/07) from Duke, owner of Scout: "Scout did an exceptional job our first time out, she seems to be a natural! She was obviously the youngest dog in the group (4 months) but that did not stop her. We ran six trails per day in the woods as well as six trails in an urban area, and Scout found the victim each time."

In 2003 we donated two Bloodhounds to the New Hampshire State Police and soon afterwards both started saving lives and tracking down criminals. Police Dog

Our 2005 donation was to the Sheriff's Department
of Cheshire County, NH.

2006 Donations

Libby is our most recent donation, and is working for a Sheriff Department in the State of New Hampshire as a member of the Search and Rescue team.
Dixie is a Certified Search and Rescue dog. She was originally donated to the NH State PD and worked for 4 years, doing a phenomenal job. They were forced to retire her for a needed Shepard, and returned her back to us. We immediately donated her to a S.A.R. organization located in Windsor, Nova Scotia.
